ESTIMATES

	Please email or contact MNE-AESOP if you require an estimate for editing 
	your text or for any other editorial service:
	
	You will normally be sent an estimate within the next 48 hours. 
	Even if you accept the estimate and wish us to go ahead with the 
	work, payment will not be required until we have completed the
	work to your satisfaction. See Payment terms for more details.
	
	The estimate we send you is normally broken down into the following
	sections:

	
	Section 1:    EDITING TASKS
	
	Description of tasks to be undertaken, e.g.
	
	    1. General proof-reading of literals, punctuation.
	
	    2. Ensuring correct use of English and improving sentence flow where
	       necessary.
	
	    3. Establishing consistency in style.
	    
	    4. Improving general formatting and appearance, especially of headings
	       etc.
	
	The above is just an example and the editing tasks will obviously vary in 
	each case.
	
	
	Section 2:    CURRENT ESTIMATE
	
	On this basis the estimate is as follows:
	
	        X x Y = Z
	
	based on Y pounds/dollars per thousand words, assuming that the final unedited
	text is X x 1000 words. If the final unedited text is longer than X x 1,000
	the estimate will be correspondingly higher, based on the same rate
	(Y pounds/dollars per 1000 words). The current US equivalent is $$$ based
	on the current exchange rate (see next section).
	
	
	Section 3:       EXCHANGE RATE
	
	Exchange rate = 1 pound (GBP) = $ ? (US dollars) as of the date/time when
	the estimate is prooduced, according to Yahoo!'s Currency Conversion facility
	at:
	
	        http://finance.yahoo.com
	
	
	Section 4:      REVISION-TRACKING
	
	An explanation of what this means. Together with the edited version you will 
	also be sent a revision-tracked version so that you can see the changes 
	made to your original text.
	
	
	Section 5:      QUERIES ON TEXT
	      
	An explanation of what this means. Should there be any queries on the text, 
	you will be sent a list; the text would then subsequently be revised in the 
	light of your replies to queries.
	
	
	Section 6:      PAYMENT TERMS
	
	Details of how to pay, either (1) by cheque, (2) bank transfer or (3)
	online, are also included in the invoice sent to you on completion of
	the work to your satisfaction. Payment terms are 30 days, i.e. payment
	will be expected within 30 days of receipt of invoice.
